HIV positive father rapes his two daughters-infect them with HIV
A 42-year-old man has been slapped
with 36 years in prison for raping his two biological daughters on several
occasions and infecting them with HIV.
George Wanyara remained unrepentant
throughout the trial held at Masvingo, Zimbabwe concluded at Masvingo Courts
last week, insulting witnesses and hitting back at the Magistrate, something
that aggravated his sentence. When the Magistrate asked the accused whether he
had been tested for HIV, Wanyara hit back at the Magistrate and asked her to go
and get tested herself.
The Magistrate took note of
Wanyara’s violent behaviour in court and said because of that he would go to
prison for 36 years. It was the State case that sometime in November 2006, the
accused left his sick wife in their bedroom and went to the hut which served as
a kitchen and sneaked into the blankets of his 17 year-old daughter.
The daughter screamed for help from
her mother after realising that someone was in her blankets but the accused
threatened to kill the complainant before he raped her once.
Wanyara again raped the same
daughter on January 7, 2012 when he entered the kitchen at night and demanded
that the complainant give him food. When the complainant came with the food,
the accused forced her to the ground, undressed her and raped her once.
The complainant reported the two
counts to the Police the following morning. On the third count, the court heard
that sometime in 2008 Wanyara approached his 10 year old daughter when she was
sleeping in the same room with her brother and assaulted his son who bolted out
of the house leaving the two together. Wanyara then raped his daughter who was
sleeping naked in her blankets. One of the daughters is reported to have tested
HIV positive, an infection allegedly passed on by the father.
Wonders will never end!! What could be the problem with the man? the man must be sick!!
